Rug Cleaning in Lake Carolina
Collection and delivery in Lake Carolina are included. We take the rug back to the workshop, wash it properly, and bring it home.
What Lake Carolina is built from
A master-planned community in Northeast Columbia built from the late 1990s onward around a man-made lake, with its own town centre and a series of villages of houses. Slab and crawlspace construction, open plans, big returns, and hardwood or luxury vinyl through the main living space with rugs laid over it.
Young and mid-career families in volume, with children, dogs and a lot of coming and going through the back door. Most rugs here were bought new for the house rather than inherited into it, which means synthetics and hand-tufted wool far more often than hand-knotted.
The Lake Carolina problem
This is Sandhills ground, and the sand is the whole problem. It is fine, hard and endless, it comes off yards and paths and playing fields on every pair of shoes, and it does not sit politely on the surface of a rug — it works straight down to the base of the pile and lodges against the backing, where every footstep grinds it into the fibre. A vacuum lifts the loose top and leaves the part that is doing the cutting exactly where it is, which is why a four-year-old rug in a busy family room thins out without ever looking dirty. New construction adds a second, quieter issue: these houses are tight and their cooling systems are often generously sized, so on a merely warm day the system satisfies the thermostat quickly, shuts off, and never runs long enough to pull much moisture out of the air. The house feels cool and the rug on the floor is still sitting in humid air.
If that sounds like your rug, send the form and describe what you are seeing. We will tell you whether it needs the full treatment or not.
